Dove Review

Calvin Masterson is a five time world champion along with his horse Fandango in the Paso Fino competition, which means fine step. Paso Fino is a breed of horse that is known for its smooth, natural, four beat lateral gait. So our story begins after Cal and Fandango take their fifth win and are looking for the next competition to be the first to win six, but unfortunately there is an accident that causes an injury to Cal that may prevent him from riding again.

Cal and his wife Maggie are unsure what is going to happen in their future when they meet their new neighbors, Mason Scott and his daughter Claire. Claire is a lover of horses because of her mother, who she lost to cancer. The new group of friends finds a way to help each other out during this difficult time of recovery and mending.

This story is a charming tale of relationships between friends and family. Sometimes fathers can be over protective of daughters when something happens, but it is important to talk to each other to find out the feelings that are important to the girls. “A Fine Step” is a heartwarming movie about helping others in time of need. We are proud to award this film with the Dove “Family-Approved” Seal for ages 12+ due to some language.
