“Pitch Perfect 2” features a lot of talent including stars Anna Kendrick and Hailee Steinfeld, who harmonizes with her. It’s an underdog story about the Barden Bellas, who are viewed as having no original voice. They are suspended from their college and have to win the international competition to be reinstated. The movie focuses on music and humor, with Rebel Wilson taking charge in that category. In one scene she does a very funny dance as she marches toward the man she loves.
The girls bond as they go through peaks and valleys and prepare for the big competition. Judging by the audience at the early screening I saw, this movie is definitely geared toward high school and college women. The Bellas pull out all the stops for their big final number. Unfortunately, this film doesn’t stay within our Dove parameters due to a lot of sexual innuendos and comments, not to mention the use of strong language. So it cannot receive our Dove “Family-Approved’ Seal.
