Frances Scott Key’s single greatest characteristic was optimism. He was a poet, lawyer, husband, father, Christian and leader. He wrote and exchanged letters that were moving, inspiring and honoring to many of his family members and friends, including John Randolph Roanoke and General Robert Ross.
