Dove Review

Ken Curtis combines his vocational skills with his heart for the Lord to minister to others like him, who are suffering from cancer and the fears that come with it. Curtis, in the midst of his cancer treatments, created three separate DVD series, starting with “Reflections on Psalm 23 For People with Cancer.” The tagline for this series is, “You don’t have to be afraid anymore.” Next, Curtis released the series, “Reflections on the Lord’s Prayer for People with Cancer,” with the tagline, “You don’t have to feel alone anymore.” Curtis walks his peer audience through the hope and guidance found in the Lord’s Prayer and reaches out to his audience with vulnerability and compassion.

Broken into ten segments, Curtis’s documentary series reflects on each line of the famous prayer that Christ gave as an example to His followers. Line by line, Curtis explores the ways in which this scriptural prayer has led him into the comfort of God’s presence. As Curtis reflects on the scripture passage, he walks through the Holy Land of Israel, accompanied with his granddaughter and son.

Like in the previous DVD series, Curtis’ approach is honest, gentle, loving, and powerful. Through his reflections on Psalm 23, he became a friend to his suffering audience, and now he is conversing with them again, sharing his story so they know they are not alone. He reminds his audience how accessible God is and refers to the Lord’s Prayer as a guide. Curtis’s journey is very moving and comforting. We gladly award “Reflections on the Lord’s Prayer for People with Cancer” the Faith Friendly Seal of Approval for all ages. This devotional series will bless anyone who feels alone in their struggles and sufferings.
