Dove Review

“The Little Ponderosa Zoo” is a cute movie, featuring some bumbling would-be crooks who fail to carry out their money-making scheme. A young girl named Charlie (Kena Holmes) is the perfect foil for the fumbling criminals. Charlie’s parents, Jack and Judy Freeman, run the zoo, and every year they are in the red financially until the annual festival puts them back in the black. When the local bank president learns that a gold nugget has been found on zoo property, he plots to shut down the zoo and claim the property for the city so he can get his hands on the wealth. Their plot is executed during the festival. However, Charlie is a precocious girl who comes up with a scheme of her own to save the zoo.

We award “The Little Ponderosa Zoo” our Dove Family Approved Seal for all ages. This movie features funny animals and funny humans, too, and is a delight to watch.
