Dove Review

The 13 episodes in “Ancient Secrets of the Bible Vol. 2” are inspiring, dramatic and compelling. The subjects are fascinating, and this series does a remarkable job in using paintings, illustrations, videos, and interviews with various experts. The five topics included on disc one (the first of three discs) are: “Jesus Walks the Earth,” “Lost Bible Treasures,” “Dinosaurs,” “Biblical Authors” and “Mary Magdalene.”

Experts discuss the reliability of the Gospels, including the fact that Jewish Rabbis wrote historically of Christ. They also examine the Synoptic Gospels and the Dead Sea Scrolls. They ask a lot of questions, as they uncover the “Ancient Secrets of the Bible”: Has David’s tomb been found, with all its treasures? Are dinosaurs mentioned in Job 40 and 41? In another interesting feature in the set, the experts examine Mary Magdalene’s life and whether or not she was a prostitute before serving Christ, as some claim. The film also features the authors of the biblical books. Some speculate Mary Magdalene wrote the Gospel of John. Is there any credibility to this claim?

Disc two features: “The Garden of Eden,” “Bible Code,” “Angel Encounters,” and “Power of Prayer.” Discussions involve the location of the Garden of Eden and include beautiful cinematography. Michael Drosnin, author of “The Bible Code,” speaks about the belief of a mathematical Bible Code featured in God’s Word and how it is found in the Torah and in other places, even foretelling future events. This disc also examines possible angelic encounters and the power of prayer.

Disc three features these four episodes: “Adam and Eve,” “Ancient Man-Ancestors,” “The Rapture” and “Bible Code 911.” Experts discuss the fact the Genesis locations are historical and how the Bible refers to Adam and Eve as true historical figures. The mystery of the Rapture of the church is examined, with a scriptural basis of 1 Thessalonians 4. This film features comments from Dr. Tim LaHaye, author of the “Left Behind” series. Finally, it asks, did the Bible foretell the events of 911 and of the destruction of the twin towers of the World Trade Center?

We are pleased to award this terrific series our “Faith-Friendly” Seal for ages 12-plus. Enjoy the illustrations, videos, photos, experts, and the entire package! It is engaging, for sure.
