Angel of Christmas

Based on the popular novel by Jane Maas, "Angel of Christmas" follows Susan Nicholas, a newspaper writer whose boss has given her three weeks to write a holiday story about her great-grandfather and the angel he carved as a young man. As the days count down to her Christmas Eve deadline, Susan finds herself being courted by two very different men as she unravels the details of a romantic triangle from her grandfather's life. In the end, both the past and the present will lead back to the angel of Christmas.

Dove Review

Susan, a newspaper writer, has a “humbug” attitude toward Christmas, because her ex-boyfriend left her on Christmas Day. She runs into Brady not once, but twice, and he is determined to get her into the holiday spirit. He is not the only one — the Christmas Angel that the family has passed down for generations helps get her there, too.

Susan’s great-grandfather carved the angel for his first love, an actress in a stage play. As Susan begins to investigate the story, she learns that the people involved believe in the magic of love. In fact, the angels help Susan with her love life, even though they didn’t help her great-grandfather, who did not end up marrying the actress.

“Angel of Christmas” is a wonderfully charming movie that includes comedy, romance, and the holiday spirit. It is enjoyable and entertaining for the entire family. We award it the Dove “Family-Approved” Seal for all ages.
