Dove Review

“Harry and His Bucket Full of Dinosaurs” is a delightful animated series, wildly imaginative and innovative, with creative and moral stories. And the first season features 26 dynamic dinosaur episodes, with heroic Harry as the harbinger of hope! This show is based on a series of books, written and drawn by Ian Whybrow and Adrian Reynolds. The episodes start and end with Harry, and sometimes Harry and his mom. The animation’s colors are vivid as are the delightful characters. The dinosaurs include Taury, Trike, Pterence, Patsy, Sid, and Steggy, and all of their names are based on the kinds of dinosaurs they are! Also featured are Harry’s mom and nana, and Harry is charmingly voiced by Andrew Chalmers.

This enjoyable series is filled with imagination, such as when Harry draws a monster and then dreams it’s under his bed! It also features great morals, such as cleaning up after yourself, returning library books, being careful what you wish for, and how to deal with it when nobody is listening to you. Also, it contains some great lines, like, “A job without a plan is like a door without a handle!” You just won’t get anywhere.

We are happier than a dinosaur to award our Dove Seal for All Ages to this delightful and imaginative first season of “Harry and His Bucketfull of Dinosaurs”. These dinosaurs are friendly and faithful friends and your kids, and probably you too, parents, will love them!

Primordial ooze is mentioned as a beginning place for the dinosaurs; some tension between characters; a monster with long claws and teeth are seen but Harry tells it to have short claws and teeth and it changes to a less scary one.
