Faith Filled Christmas is good, clean fun for the whole family, with a positive message and plenty of Christian values.
After receiving some bad news, Grandparents Mildred and Simon Fairway are focused on making the Christmas season intentional and are not short on opportunities to do so. While spending the day apart— Simon at the retirement home and Mildred away visiting family—they both do their part in spreading good tidings. A reluctant Mildred invites her cynical friend Betty to visit her unique family, a blend of one compassionate story after the next. When Betty sees true examples of biblical charity from the Fairways, her eyes are opened to a truth and hope she hadn’t realized before. Meanwhile, Simon is left at home with his trickster of a best friend Byron. Byron is on his last straw at the retirement village, and for his final hurrah, they stage a hilarious coup, making friends and bringing energy and life to all the residents there. When everyone comes together at the end of the day, there is no perfect resolution, but there is no doubt Christmas cheer has been spread, and the Lord is at work. There were many humorous and touching moments to be found in Faith Filled Christmas, and the intentional faith-driven heart of the film is undeniable. We see examples of realistic believers living out their faith in various ways, be it evangelism, a simple, kind gesture, or serving in the foster care system. The characters and story are creative and enjoyable; however, we never dive too deep into either one. There is no doubt that “Faith Filled Christmas” is indeed filled with faith. The story is simple and sweet with great lessons to be gleaned. It doesn’t wrap up in a neat bow at the end, which is a nice step for a Christian film. It’s a friendly reminder that we can still spread hope and faith even when the situation is less than ideal. Faith Filled Christmas is a light and fun, yet purposeful holiday movie for the whole family to enjoy. We are pleased to award the Dove Seal of Approval for Ages 12+ to Faith Filled Christmas.
