In Search of Francis of Assisi is a vivid and uplifting portrait of the man in the title, a holy man who was kind, not to mention well-loved. He made the comment, “Preach the gospel by your deeds.” He was born in 1182 and died in 1226. He was only 44 years old when he passed away. There were many followers of the man.
His work continues today. He loved animals. There is a church named in his honor, and a bread line Monday through Friday feeds the hungry in his honor. The documentary features paintings, interviews with many people including historians and friars, and various scenic moments. (Pope Francis is compared to St. Francis of Assisi.) While on his death bed, St. Francis asked his brothers to read him Psalm 122. There are now over 20 Franciscan colleges and universities in 10 states, serving hundreds of thousands yearly. His work continues, long after death. We are more than happy to award this film our Dove Approval Seal for ages 12+, due to the upper nudity of women seen in portraits. This inspiring film will reveal to you a great model to emulate!
