Seal Morning
A heartwarming family story about adolescence, love and the relationship between man and nature. The discovery of an abandoned baby seal on the desolate Norfolk coastline of England brings Rowena (Holly Aird), an orphaned girl, together with Miriam (Jane Lapotaire), her recluse aunt. The seal's playfulness and pup antics break down barriers in their new relationship. With her adventurous new pet, Rowena also loses her fear of the wild countryside and begins to explore the beauty of the area. Soon, the tiny cottage becomes a refuge for an assorted menagerie, attracting the attention of Bernard Lacy (David Birney), a Canadian naturalist. He becomes attracted to Aunt Miriam as well, bringing her out of her hermit-like existence. Set in the 1930s on a remote part of the English coastline, rich in marine and bird life, this story captures the beauty of those surroundings.
