This film has a positive theme: You don’t have to be popular to be happy; just be yourself. Lola does not let obstacles get in her way, but her determination also involves stealing, lying and breaking rules. To get what she wants, she persuades her new friends to go along with her shady plans. The teen girls wear tight dresses, low-cut tops and hip-huggers that appear to be on the verge of falling off. There is a weak moral message that drinking is wrong, but no real consequences are shown. Dove cautiously approves this one and suggests that, as painful as it may be, parents watch it with their teens and discuss it afterwards.
