“Athletic Baby” has the right idea with a goal of getting kids off their bottoms and more active. “Athletic Baby: Soccer” is filled with footage of children and young teens playing soccer and many different songs to go along with the pictures. The movie teaches the very basic rules of soccer, focusing on “Don’t use your hands!”. There are breaks between the footage that contain learning opportunities such as counting soccer balls to learn numbers.

The idea of getting kids active is fantastic. The only down side of this movie is the large amount of soccer footage which becomes too repetitive and doesn’t keep a child’s attention for very long. Very young children would probably enjoy “Athletic Baby: Soccer” the most as there is a lot of movement, color and music. Dove easily gives its approval as a family-friendly-movie.
