Hollywood: Its a Dogs Life

Carly Simmons moves to California from Texas to live with her grandfather Peter Brown, a movie animal trainer. Carly helps her grandfather train the dogs and horses for movie work. Then we see clips from the finished movies: a western, a commercial with a police chase and K-unit, a TV detective series and a tongue-in-cheek horror movie. We meet several veteran actors and an entertaining slice of life both behind and in front of the camera.

Dove Review

We are pleased to be able to award the Dove Family-Approved Seal to the film, “Hollywood: It’s a Dog’s Life.” This is the story of a family that trains animals for Hollywood films. The film does not follow a conventional story line and instead shows snippets of the lives of all involved, including the animals. This movie has something for everyone. Younger children will enjoy the scenes with the animals and the older viewers will enjoy the references to various actors and films. Everyone will enjoy the production of quality, and sometimes not-so-quality films as it gives an interesting look into the industry.

There was very little that was objectionable in this film. There was one incident of name calling and a scene where a woman pulls a karate move on a man who tries to put the moves on her. All in all, this is a movie that all will enjoy.
