Dove Review

The kids are cute and the vignettes will make you think about God and spiritual truths. There are six episodes. In the first one, titled “God Who?” Matty and Micah talk of the Heavenly Father, and the fact that He is there. Matthew 18:3 is posted during each episode, which states one must become like a little child to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Episode two is titled “”What about Jesus?” and Johnny and Joey discuss Jesus and his gifts. They also discuss sex, and the fact that Jesus wasn’t born like all other children but was born of a virgin mother. A funny moment occurs when one of the kids thinks Joseph didn’t pay the rent and he and his family were thrown out and went to a barn.

In episode three, titled “Who’s Boo?” Esther and Evie talk about the Holy Ghost, also known as the Holy Spirit. Some people don’t understand the term “ghost” and take the wrong meaning from it. The two mention that the Holy Spirit was not created but has always been here, a member of God’s family, and He is not scary. In episode four, titled “The Little Black Book” Deborah and Dinah talk about the Bible being an old book and yet God is as contemporary as today. One of the girls sings, and with talent, and says she does so because she is happy. She gives the credit for her happiness to the Lord.

In episode five, “What Would Jesus Do?” Abel and Andrew discuss the power of prayer; and in the final episode, “What’s in a Name?” young Rebekah and Ruthie mention the many names of the Lord, including Jesus, Prince of Peace, the Alpha and Omega, the Truth and the Light, the Deliverer, and so forth.

There are two special features included, a music video, and a feature which focuses on some of the kid actors as they share their testimonies. This is a nicely done DVD and shows current kids acting in current situations and they do a commendable job. We recommend this DVD and award it our Dove “Family-Approved Seal”.
