The Little Prince

In this quasi-musical fable directed by Stanley Donen (and based on the classic children's book by Antoine de Saint-Exupery), Richard Kiley plays a pilot who's forced down in the Sahara Desert and listens to a little boy's (Steven Warner) magical stories about distant planets and strange people and animals. Before long, the pilot realizes that his life will be forever altered (in a good way) by his encounter with the mesmerizing little prince.

Dove Review

Filled with a variety of songs and characters this is a strange movie but interesting to say the least. I have never read the classic children’s book that it was based on but it does pique my interest to make a trip to the library. It is a story filled with many allegories.

There are scenes that may be to scary for younger children and older ones may be bored. Dove awards the Dove “Family-Approved” Seal to “The Little Prince.”
