Dove Review

Five Children are brought together by circumstances with the help of their favorite fantasy book. Marcus and Malia’s father died in the war, Jackson and Addie’s parents are divorced, and Renee’s parents are in Europe. But now Addie and Jackson’s dad is married to Marcus and Malia’s Mom. The four of them share some resentful feelings and wish life was the way it used to be. With help from Renee and the insights from the author of their favorite book, they find some answers that will influence all their lives.

Many children have a hard time coping with divorce or even the death of a parent. This story may help them deal with these issues. This is an amazing tale that teaches the viewer that sometimes the past is not the place to focus on if you want to live peacefully in the present. “The Five” is awarded the Dove ‘Family-Approved” Seal for ages 12 and over due to the tough topics of this moving film.
