“The Bell Family” is an episode in “Building a Difference”, a television series that focuses on how people with resources can help people with needs. In this story, two Christian parents, John and Michelle Bell, have an ideal family including three lovely daughters. Then, in an instant, their lives are torn apart when they are involved in a horrific motorcycle accident that leaves them both with lifelong disabilities.
The “Building a Difference” documentary team collaborated with Northeast Florida Builders Care, a ministry that helps refurbish homes for the needy, and Christian Motorcyclists Association. All three groups along with more than one hundred volunteers worked side by side to not just refurbish, but rebuild the Bell’s house into a spacious, barrier free home. The work was completed in just one week! This story about rebuilding a house is really a metaphor for rebuilding the lives of a family.
A basic axiom in marketing is “find a need and fill it.” This story is an inspirational reminder of that adage and how it can work in the lives of people helping those less fortunate. It helps us realize that everyone has the capacity to reach out to others in need. We all have something to give. We just have to open our eyes and look around.
Dove gladly awards “Building a Difference – The Bell Family” our Dove “Family-Approved” Seal for all ages.
