Dove Review

Here we have a story of one man’s fall from grace. Johnny C is the lead singer of a Christian band and he has everything–stardom, a young daughter, wife and nice home. But he also has a secret, he is addicted to the drug Oxycontin and has cheated on his wife. Now he is faced with the reality of his downfall and needs to find recovery on his own.

Addiction of any type is a hard road for not only the person addicted but also for family and friends. This movie portrays the reality of the situation for all involved. It shows the difficult life that the addict has to face so that he or she will reach out for recovery and redemption and the hard choices that family and friends also have to make.

None of the bad elements in this movie are condoned and there are consequences for this type of behavior. It’s truly a faith-based story about making correct choices in life, recovery and redemption with valuable lesson for all. Because of the topics dealt with in this film, we recommend “The Imposter” for ages 12 and older.
