This movie does a good job in portraying rage. The main character, Joshua, a 17-year-old High School student, shows it after being bullied by fellow students and ignored by his parents. His dad is no longer with him, divorced from his mother and working as a truck driver. His mom leaves him video updates such as “There’s food in the refrigerator which you can put in the microwave” and “I have to work over, I love you”. He has too much time on his hand and plays violent video games and watches violent movies on TV. He peruses the internet and checks out weapons for sale.
This movie features two security guards at the school, Kelly and Tony, who are Christians and want to help the kids. However, the content in this movie is strong as it shows the realism of a kid who loses it and buys a gun and enters his high school one day with the intent of following through on the threat he left on the bathroom mirror in red, which was, “You are all going 2 die”. He shoots a few students and one is seen with blood on his chest and blood on the wall behind him. He shoots a security guard too and a lot of blood is seen. He holds his gun on others, threatens them, and eventually puts it to his own head.
Ultimately one of his victims talks to him about Jesus. Because of the violence and drug content in this film and due to its message of redemption and talk of Christ as Savior, we award it our Faith Based Seal with cautions. It certainly makes a statement against bullying. In its closing it shows this statistic: Over 50% of students are bullied mentally, verbally and physically in the U.S.
