Laughing on Purpose

Michael Jr. Live at the Gateway Southlake, TX
Featuring Jason Earls

With multiple appearances on late night television, such as The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Jimmy Kimmel live and Comedy Central, comedian Michael Jr. has made a name for himself.

He has compiled his family focused, laid back stand up comedic style into this, his first solo comedy special on DVD. His comedy has been proven to be edgy enough for Las Vegas and clean enough to be enjoyed in church. Laughing on Purpose will push you to laugh until your face hurts while inspiring you at the same time.

Dove Review

What a laugh-inducing DVD! Michael Jr. is in top form as he makes people of all ages laugh when he jokes about various subjects in a wholesome manner which the entire family can enjoy.

He opens the act by stating that great comedy is a lot like dating someone you really like–you want to take your time. From imitating a minister who sounded like he was clearing his voice when he preached to the topic of being poor or even death, Michael Jr. tackles it all but in good taste. One of the jokes that provoked a lot of laughter was when Michael said, “We were poor…or po–we couldn’t even afford all the letters, man!” He went on to joke he was sponsored by a family in Haiti! Michael said he asked his grandmother once about a relative who had died and was in a casket and the relative said, “He’s in a better place.” Michael, seeing him in the “box” asked, “What kind of box was he in before?”

We won’t give all the jokes away but Michael Jr. delivers them superbly in this laugh-filled DVD. Michael Jr. also gets people of all ages involved including kids. We are happy to award this very funny DVD five Doves, our highest rating. This easily earns our Dove “Family-Approved” Seal.
