This DVD wonderfully showcases some awesome singing talent as it energetically tells the story of God’s covenant with Abraham and how it remains true and faithful to this day.
This live-action play opens with the story of Abraham and God’s command that he get out of his country to a land that God would show him, and how God promised him he would be a father of nations and the nation would be blessed. We next see the story of Moses and the Hebrews being freed from Egyptian bondage, then it’s on to the story of Ruth and Naomi and how Ruth met Boaz and he provided for her and also for Naomi. This leads to the story of David, Israel’s greatest king, and the Babylonian captivity and the three Hebrews being delivered from the burning fiery furnace. Next the focus is on Daniel and then on to the story of Esther and how she went before the king and saved her people from the wicked Haman. Then the story of the Romans and Jesus, and his great forgiveness, is illustrated. From there it shows the time period of 70 A.D. and the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple. Yet despite more and more persecution, including in 1492 and the Holocaust, Israel did become a nation in 1948 and survives to this day.
Although some slaves are beaten in the play, it is not graphic and is the only real violence in the film. This story features terrific songs and awesome talent. We are more than happy to award our Dove Seal to this film for all ages, although those eight and up will most enjoy it. This movie lovingly presents God’s covenant with man. It is worth every minute of viewing time.
