It was a pleasure to watch this movie. It is well acted, directed, and features a solid script and an interesting story, not to mention several neat magic tricks! Harris lll is terrific as the magician with the same name. This is a story about his journey and his discoveries along the way.
Everyone needs a mentor in life and Mr. McMichael is young Harris’ mentor. He encourages him to realize that illusion and deception exist and to search for truth. Eventually Harris hits it really big as a magician with a showmanship ability and a great talent for magic. However, even after owning a large home and all the stuff he could want, he realizes he wants a purpose in life more than anything. When he visits El Salvador he eventually becomes a Christian and he finds that purpose and determines to simply share a message of truth with his audience, reminding them that life has its illusions and deceptions. He states he is thankful because he almost became “entangled” himself in deception. He says that “everything we do prepares us for everything we do.” When he states he has found happiness, you believe him.
This wonderful and remarkable film easily earns our Dove “Faith Friendly” Seal for all ages. Harris’ escape from the underwater tank at the end, the one Houdini used to perform, is incredible. He involves his audience in his performance and this film will pull you in and entertain you. Your family has got to see this movie! It is inspiring!
