Angel Eyes – Filtered
While pursuing an armed criminal who just opened fire on her fellow Chicago Police officers, Sharon Pogue (Jennifer Lopez) nearly becomes the victim until a mysterious stranger named Catch (James Caviezel) appears and saves her life. As Sharon gets to know this man of mystery, the two fall in love as she turns to him for help in dealing with her family’s abusive past. She also discovers the unusual truth about Catch and realizes she has touched his life before.
The idea behind the movie is excellent. A terrible car accident links Catch, the victim who loses both his wife and son, and Sharon, a cop who is dealing with abuse in her family. Catch, who believes the accident was his fault, spends every day trying to help people. Sharon became a cop to put people like her abusive father away. A year after the accident, they are reunited when Catch saves her life. Each, with the help and support of the other, works through seemingly unhealable wounds. It was a captivating movie that held my attention until the end. There were quite a few parts where cursing or vulgar words were muted out, but you could obviously read what they were saying. Because of that and several incidents of on-scene shooting and fighting, you’ll want to turn the eyes of your little angels toward another movie.
