House of Wax (2005) – Filtered
This remake of the 1953 horror flick begins with six teens on a road trip to a college football game. On the way, they stop to camp in the woods. When a fan belt mysteriously breaks the next day, they hitch a ride with a creepy man — he disposes of road kill for a living — to the small town of Athelston, which seems unusually quiet. As the kids explore, they come upon a wax museum and, still not seeing anybody, go inside. They discover that all of the wax people are unknowns, not famous people as expected. It turns out that the figures in the museum are the lifelike remains of abducted victims who were covered alive in wax. The only thing that matters to the teens now is getting out of town before they too become an exhibit in the House of Wax.
A group of friends are on their way to a football game. They come to a town where everything is made of wax, but they don’t know that. Two killer brothers run the town. They kill everyone that comes to visit the town to see the House of Wax and they turn them into wax corpses. One by one the friends are getting killed. The two friends left are trying to escape and get out of the town. After hours of running, hidding, fighting with the brothers, the two brothers die in the house as it quickly melts away. They are happy the brothers are finally gone, but were there only two? This horror suspense movie is graphic with all the killing, and blood. It shows characters getting stabbed and a girl’s finger gets cut off, her mouth gets glued shut and then she peels her lips apart and it gets really bloody. I really wouldn’t recommend anyone see this movie. It seems to drag on after awhile. The acting also was not the greatest.
