Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith – Filtered
Three years after the Battle of Geonosis, the Clone Wars are coming to a close. Obi-Wan Kenobi, now a general, is sent by the Republic to bring down remaining Separatists Count Dooku and General Grievous. And Chancellor Palpatine has become corrupt, proclaiming himself Emperor, and, with Anakin Skywalker’s help, begins to turn the Republic into the Galactic Empire. As Anakin ultimately becomes the evil we know as Darth Vader, Padme goes into hiding, and, at the end of one war, another conflict we know all too well is about to begin.
In this final installment of the “Star Wars” pre-quel trilogy, the story is finally told of how Anakin Skywalker turns to the Dark Side and becomes Lord Darth Vader. The Supreme Chancellor has been taken captive by General Grievous and Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin board his ship to try and rescue the Chancellor. With reason, the Jedi become leery about the Chancellor’s loyalty to the Force. When the Jedi give Anakin the mission to find out the Chancellor’s intentions, he instead gets drawn to the powers of the Dark Side- where the Chancellor’s true allegiance lies. Anakin’s thirst to become more powerful than any Jedi before him eventually leads him to swear his allegiance to the Dark Side, thus becoming Darth Vader. If you are a “Star Wars” fan, Episode III will definitely answers many questions you may have about the original “Star Wars” trilogy. Due to the basis of the movie, there are many references to the Dark Side and the Force including the Chancellor telling Anakin that he holds the key to attaining all the power of the Dark Side. Episode III definitely has lots of material for some potentially great discussions with your kids. Yoda is shown in a meditation position and there are a few times where you can tell he has a bad feeling about something, but there weren’t any references or glorification of Eastern religion or the power within. With the fantastic graphics and futuristic setting, this is definitely a must-see for any “Star Wars” fans!
