This is a remarkable DVD! The CGI animation is awesome and the story of young Abraham, based on the Midrash, is a rare story indeed. We learn how Abram dealt with King Nimrod and idolatry in Ur, and how he detested idols. The program has some cute and humorous moments too such as when young Abram smashes some idols and an older man becomes hysterical over it. Still, young Abram makes his point about the uselessness of these idols and how that the old man and the people need to seek the one true God and creator. The DVD concludes with Abram joining up with Sarai before he marries her and points the viewer to Genesis chapter eleven in the Bible for further reading.
Some slapstick humor is featured in this program with a buddy slapping his friend in the head and there is a brief sword fight shown with no blood. Due to the strong statement against idols and the nicely told story, we are pleased to award our Dove “Family-Approved” Seal to this DVD for all ages. This is a great tool for teachers to use to portray the story of a young Abraham to students. We award the DVD five Doves, our highest rating.
