Masquerade is a terrific story about the masks that people sometimes wear and that removing the mask is the best way to face the truth.
Chris and Michelle are a young couple, the assistant pastors at a church, but when the lead pastor has an affair, Chris becomes the lead pastor. Michelle becomes concerned, due to their son’s and her own lack of time, about her now very-busy husband. They begin to have problems, and she questions whether taking the church was God’s will or her husband’s. She wants more income, and he has a servant’s heart. When his son wants to give his dad a congratulations note for becoming the new pastor, he waves his son away with his hand and tells him he’s too busy. Later he realizes just how much he is losing his family, and he has to face the truth that maybe the timing isn’t right for him to be leading a flock.
This movie deals with the stresses of the pulpit and church life and is an honest look at why people should make sure they are not donning masks, but removing them. We are pleased to award Masquerade our Dove-Approved Seal for ages 12+. This movie will encourage the viewer to drop the masks and face the truth.
