Dove Family Film Festival Seal

The Dove Foundation is a nonprofit family advocacy organization that influences Hollywood filmmakers to move in a more family-friendly direction. The Foundation launched the Dove Family Film Festival back in 1993 for the purpose of providing families with a wholesome movie experience at an affordable price. Dove’s primary partner in West Michigan has been Loeks Theatres, Inc. and its Celebration! Cinema theaters.

Dove CEO, Dick Rolfe said, “The Loeks management and staff have been great partners for various events including the Dove Family Film Festivals® which have entertained over 100,000 people, young and old, every spring and fall since 1993.”

Loeks Theatres, Inc. announced that beginning in 2009 they will be “rebranding” the Dove Family Film Festival® into Flick’s Family Film Festival. In a statement released by VP Marketing, Steve VanWagoner, this change will allow Celebration! Cinema the opportunity to “feature an expanded line-up of movies and feature our mascot, Flick.”

The Dove Foundation plans to continue serving the families in West Michigan in the tradition of the Dove Family Film Festival.  According to Rolfe, “We are currently talking with several potential community partners so we can continue providing wholesome Dove-Approved movies to area families at affordable prices.”
