Percy Jackson and his friends are back in this stunning adventure. “Sea of Monsters” is a combination of mythology and fantasy all wraped up in one fun and exciting movie.

The group of kids that are the focus of the film are what they call “half bloods,” which are children that come from parents of mixed race; one is a mythological god and the other is a human. In this movie, all the kids from these parents are protected at a camp from the outside world by a force field. But they are in danger when the protective wall is broken through and the only way to save their world is by finding the golden fleece — and so the quest begins.

There are many fight scenes with mythological creatures and fantasy magic. We also see that there are lessons to be learned from this excellent adventurous movie such as the importance of family and friendship, sacrifice, as well as not judging people based on their appearance. Due to the action packed sequences with a mild amount of blood and some language, we are recommending this film for the ages 12 and over.
