Linsanity The Movie

Limited Theatrical Release - In February 2012, an entire nation of basketball fans unexpectedly went 'Linsane.' Stuck in the mire of a disappointing season, the New York Knicks did what no other NBA team had thought about doing. They gave backup point guard Jeremy Lin an opportunity to prove himself. He took full advantage, scoring more points in his first five NBA starts than any other player in the modern era, and created a legitimate public frenzy in the process. Prior to this now-legendary run, Lin had faced adversity in his career at every turn. He wasn't offered a scholarship by any major university, nor was he drafted by any NBA team after a standout collegiate career at Harvard.

Dove Review

What an intriguing character Jeremy Lin is and so is this fantastic DVD! Fans became “Linsane” due to him. The Linsanity takes place in 2012 when Lin, a Christian with a great high school basketball career, overcomes early struggles in the NBA and goes on a tear for the New York Knicks. He begins dropping in three-point shots, makes magical moves on the court and wins a following.

This wonderful DVD takes the viewer behind the scenes to see his humble beginnings from being born into an Asian family and raised in Palo Alto to his getting permission from his mother to focus on basketball instead of playing the piano. The film goes on to show his high school career, and ultimately his struggles to get to the NBA and to stay there. It is refreshing to hear him thank God time and time again when he is interviewed.

We hear from his dad, Gieming, his mother Shirley, his brothers Joshua and Joseph as well as his coaches, friends, his agent, and people in the sporting world. This wonderful DVD shows a young man trusting in God when he is low and praising God when he is up. It gives insight into the racism he has at times endured. We are more than pleased to award this terrific DVD our Dove “Faith-Friendly” Seal for ages twelve plus. This one has earned five Doves from us. This “Linspectacular” DVD will inspire every viewer that watches it!
