If you are a turkey you hate Thanksgiving because you are the main course. This funny animated movie begins when Reggie and Jake (both turkeys) meet up after Reggie is pardoned by the president so he won’t have to become Thanksgiving dinner. He loves his new life because he has been adopted by the president’s daughter. He feasts on pizza, TV and enjoys his leisurely life at Camp David. Jake on the other hand is on a mission to find Reggie and take a time-travel trip back to the first Thanksgiving in an attempt to remove their species from the menu.

The hilarity begins when the two wander into the secret government warehouse where the time machine is kept. While getting to the machine they encounter a few problems but eventually they come across “STEVE” and back in time they go. When they arrive, they find the turkeys of the time are vastly different than what they are today. They are organized to stay safe and work together for the flock.

This movie has a lot of good qualities about working together, friendship, and the theme that it is okay to be different. It is a charming film. There are some scenes that may frighten very young but we are pleased to award this film the Dove “Family-Approved” Seal for all ages.
