This movie makes a powerful statement about the incredible unconditional love of God. A young man named Joe (Ulises Larramendi) is shown in the beginning of the story winning Bible verse competitions and “Sword” awards. Later in life he has only the head knowledge and it is not in his heart. His marriage is suffering and he is ignoring his wife and son as he is often traveling in his job as an attorney. When his boss, Anthony Vero (Don Ortolano), knows he will be leaving the firm as the Managing Director, he picks Joe to be his successor but emphasizes to Joe that he needs someone who will be good to his family, because the law firm is first about helping hurting families.
When a young waitress wearing a badge that says “How can I pray for you?” puts Joe’s family on her prayer list, it seems that Joe is being called by God to draw close to Him. Joe re-examines his marriage and his role as a dad and begins to make changes in his life. The young waitress with the badge, Sarah, has a sister named Emily (Rachel Schardt) who likes Joe’s son Michael, and Sarah tells her she doesn’t have to flirt to convert! She and Michael wind up going to the prom together and Joe shows up as a proud father, there to take photos along with his wife. This film is about caring about people and putting God first. We think it is an awesome movie that will touch every viewer who watches it. Ulises Larramendi is terrific as Joe as is Don Ortolano, the actor who portrays his boss, Anthony. We are happy to award the Dove “Family-Approved” Seal for all ages to this movie although it is not intended for the very young. The movie features a humorous scene in which a young man plays a piano and sings to ask a girl out to the prom. The story and theme in this film are compelling.
