“Horse Crazy” is the engaging tale of three young girls who live and breathe their love for horses. Stevie, Lisa, and Carole meet as students at Pine Hollow, an Australian horse farm. Lisa is the “new” kid and finds it hard to break into the tight circle of fellow riders who have known each other for a long time. She finds they are not warm to an outsider they perceive as rich and stuck-up. However, circumstances soon bring them together in unexpected ways and the twosome become three when they officially form “The Saddle Club.”
A movie star arrives on the farm for a shoot; a lovely journalist arrives to write a story but falls hard for Max, a long-time bachelor and owner of the stables; and a visiting cowboy steals the hearts of several of the girls, creating complicated feelings and convoluted choices on all fronts. The film tastefully deals with beginning romance, friendship, and blossoming love. When feelings are hurt and hearts are broken, apologies are given and restoration is evident. Viewers will delight in the adventures of the fearsome trio and their friends at Pine Hollow in “Horse Crazy,” especially girls in the 7-14 year range. We are pleased to recommend this film for all ages with the Dove Family Approved Seal.
