Dove Review

“The Toy Shop” is a delightful and whimsical adventure where toys come to life and surprises are hidden behind every corner! Katherine and Matthew find themselves locked in a deserted toy shop in England. The two young cousins are amazed when they encounter Ruffles the Clown, Clarence the Clock, Wheelie the Truck, who is missing his tire, and Sarah, a beautiful little doll who adores Katherine.

The toys share friendship and camaraderie, which comes in handy when an evil jack-in-the-box, Master Jack, decides he wants to conquer and rule them all. Katherine finds herself in his cross hairs when he tries to make her his queen with a spell that shrinks her to the size of a small doll. General Jack, a silver-haired wooden soldier, leads his brave band of toys into battle with determination and zeal because Katherine may stay small forever if a magical locket remains missing.

Enchanting and amusing, “The Toy Shop” is filled with color and non-stop action around every corner. Parents will enjoy the emphasis on teamwork and the unselfish desire of several toys to help their human friends even when they are in danger. Playful mischief amongst the toys adds a rollicking twist to many of the scenes. We are happy to award this charming film the Dove Family Approved Seal for viewers of all ages.
