The Ancient of Days

“The Ancient of Days” began as a worship video. This dream, almost twenty years in the making, reveals the stories of three people who have lost hope—a young mother left behind by her soldier husband; a homeless man dozing outside of a church; an angry young son who spurns an offer by his mother to accompany her to church. Each of these people winds up being drawn into that church when they hear the song “The Ancient of Days” being sung inside. Once there, they have an unexpected encounter with Jesus that instantly changes their lives. Injuries, equipment failures, even deaths buffeted its production, expanding a simple music video into a profound testimony of perseverance and obedience to the One who is the Ancient of Days.

Dove Review

“The Ancient of Days” is a fantastic musical and documentary! It focuses on the dream of a woman named Regina who wanted to create the “Hand of God Show” for the internet and wanted to do a video for God, showing worship and praise and featuring the song “Ancient of Days.” But the struggles to get the video made took a real demonstration of faith. The passing of a mother, a woman who was going to be involved had to deal with the death of her son, another woman and her family dealt with a torrential downpour and storm as they traveled to rehearse for the video. Regina’s friend died during the creation of the video. And yet, through it all, they learned they could trust in Jesus, and they could depend on God and His word.

The results are fantastic: a beautiful rendition of the song along with energetic worship, praise and dance. And the redemption of the “young man,” a key role in the story as Jesus welcomes the prodigal home. The group learned to “worship in the midst of pain.” This fantastic musical, “The Ancient of Days,” is not intended for the very young but we are happy to award it our “Faith-Friendly” Seal for all ages. This video will speak to people of all ages and is about overcoming the obstacles and road blocks in life. It is inspiring!
