“Blood Moons” is a fascinating glimpse into our future. The film focuses on astronomy in the Bible and in history, particularly on the tetrad, a series of four moons, and the fact that a solar eclipse and two blood moons are yet to occur in 2015. Pastor Mark Biltz, founder of El Shaddai Ministries and the author of “Blood Moons,” guides the documentary that features archival footage of wars, artwork depicting Christ on the cross, and the sharing of scientific knowledge from NASA.
This topic has begun to interest the media, with the film featuring Lauren Green on a news show speaking about the tetrad. Biltz centers his attention on the Bible and what it says regarding the blood moons and Israel. He mentions that Israel becoming a nation in 1948 and it recapturing Jerusalem in 1967 during the Six-Day War is as significant as are, he believes, the blood moons. It is nearly impossible to watch this documentary and not learn something about history, science, or the Bible. The cinematography is breathtaking at times, featuring an autumn scene and a beautiful field in the opening sequence. We are very happy to award “Blood Moons” our “Faith-Friendly” Seal for all ages. It is over the heads of very young children, but it is a wholesome look at what the Bible says about end-time events and about Israel. One of its central themes for believers: Do not fear. And it encourages non-believers to look to the Lord. This is an entertaining yet educational tool and well worth seeing.
