“The Rabbi Who Found Messiah” is an interesting and thought-provoking film! It features the true story of Rabbi Yitzhak Kaduri, who was told the same prophetic word by two different rabbis when he was younger. The word was that he would see the Messiah before he died. Rabbi Kaduri let it be known in 2005 that he had seen the Messiah, and he says he will write down the name, to be revealed upon his death. It’s now a year following the death of the 108-year-old rabbi. The name? Jesus.
You can be assured that this causes great division among the people. There are those who believe it and those who don’t. There are those who are skeptical because it is rumored that Rabbi Kaduri practiced Kabbalah and spoke with demons. Yet, the question is asked, before he became Paul didn’t Saul persecute and kill Christians?
The documentary is based on the book written by Carl Gallups. Kaduri is portrayed as an extraordinary man, living to 108 and blessed with a photographic memory. He was viewed as a humble and kind man. Yet because he had not previously mentioned the name of Jesus, some claimed his writing was a forgery or that he had to fulfill the prophecy and write down a name. Yet would he write down a name that he knew would cause controversy?
The prophetic psalms are mentioned, including Psalm 22, which speaks of a crucifixion. And yet the documentary is very contemporary as it speaks of many nations aligning against Israel and that Ezekiel 38 and 39 speak of this event.
We are pleased that we can award “The Rabbi Who Found Messiah” our “Faith-Friendly” Seal for all ages, although young children will have a hard time following it. The rest of the family will find it to be an interesting and fascinating documentary. See it soon!
