This is the remarkable story of William and Catherine Booth who started The Salvation Army. William Booth had a heart to reach the lost and broken and believed in the biblical view that sin starts on the outside, and when people accept Christ as Lord in their hearts, they will be saved and transformed from the inside. He saw that, in all walks of life, people were destined to perish eternally and urged other believers to help them.
This film chronicles William and Catherine’s childhood, how they met and married, and founded The Salvation Army. They moved to London, developed a team, and began to transform lives through their ministry. Throughout their journey, Catherine experienced the challenges of being a woman in ministry, and William supported her all the way. At the age of 83, William was laid to rest with hundreds of thousands in attendance, a very public funeral for a very public person. Today, The Salvation Army serves in more than 100 nations worldwide. “Our People” is an inspiring, heartwarming story, and we award it the Dove Faith Friendly Seal for the whole family.
