Dove Review

In England, the game of soccer is called football. In “Thank God for Football!” Narrator Peter Lupson takes the viewer into the history of this English national sport. He explains how it started, how the sport was faith-based, and how the league helped the men of the area stay out of trouble, with the encouragement from the church. The football clubs, as they are called, combined religion and sports to help players gain confidence and pride.

This documentary is an educational tale of the great game and shows how the combination of belief in God and sports turned football into a sport of national pride. Hear about the great games over the years that have inspired players and leaders, past and present. If you are a fan of this game, you will learn a lot about how it has encouraged players to be their best throughout its history. We award this film the Dove Faith Friendly Seal for all ages.
