Dove Review

“Alice Through the Looking Glass” is pure imagination and escapism at its best. The characters are delightful, the effects are spectacular, and the story is captivating. Alice returns to Wonderland and is saddened to see the downcast spirit of the Mad Hatter, who thinks he has lost his family but also believes that Alice can somehow do the impossible and bring them back to him. In a brave effort to save them, Alice will have to travel through time, and she is told that she can’t change history, but she can learn from it. Can she make a difference?

Sacha Baron Cohen turns in a good performance as Time, and the various characters, chases, and circumstances create an interesting adventure. The acting is top notch, featuring Mia Wasikowska as Alice, Helena Bonham Carter as Iracebeth, Anne Hathaway as Mirana, and Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter. In his final performance, Alan Rickman voices the character of Absolem.

We enthusiastically award our Dove “Family-Approved” Seal to this film for ages 12-plus. Enter a world unlike any you’ve ever seen!
