A lot of changes are happening in Mattie’s life. She injured her knee in competition, they are moving because her family has been evicted from their house, her mom needs a new job, and she has to start a new school when they move in with her mom’s aunt.

Murphy has coached for years and owns the rink. He gives Mattie a job, and when he sees her on the ice, he also offers to help her compete as an ice skater. Her new friend, Heather, is also a skater and thinks Matte lied to her about not skating anymore. Heather ‘s mother has been telling her not to trust anyone and pushing her to win, no matter what.

“Ice Girls” is a wonderful story about making friends, helping others, and believing in yourself. It also shows how some parents push their children too hard without thinking about how the pressure will affect their children.
