Dove Review

This animated film shows what happened after the wicked witch was melted by a pail of water. Glenda, the good witch, gives the wicked witch, Eveline, a second chance. Eveline is brought back to life, but all of her powers are taken away and transferred into her broom, which is given to the kings of Oz: Lion, Scarecrow and Tin Man. They put the broom under lock and key to keep it out of the reach of Eveline.

Eveline never stops being evil and is always plotting a way to get the broom back. Her henchmen are her flying monkeys. The littlest monkey, Ozzie, does not always agree with what the evil witch asks the monkeys to do. Because of his size, he is scared of these evil tasks and wants to do the right thing to make his dad proud.

When the flying monkeys get the broom, Ozzie refuses to give it to Eveline, because she turns his dad into a chicken and wants to send Ozzie to the dungeon and exile the kings. So, Ozzie goes to find Glenda to see if she can help. However, due to an accident, Glenda is unable to help. Her niece steps in and teams up with Ozzie to help the kings and keep Eveline from taking over Emerald City.

“Guardians of Oz” is a charming tale that offers lessons about peer pressure, power, determination, and forgiveness. We award this cute, animated movie the Dove “Family-Approved” Seal for all ages.
