The lovable Smurfs are back. This time, Smurfette wants to find her purpose. It seems that all the male Smurfs in the village are named after their special trait—such as Clumsy, because, well, he is clumsy; Brainy, because he is smart; Hefty, because he is strong; and Grumpy—well, that is self-explanatory. But Smurfette is just plain ol’ Smurfette with no outstanding trait that she can find.

When Smurfette, Hefty, Clumsy and Brainy go out of the village to have some fun, Smurfette sees someone that looks like them. Then when evil Gargamel captures them for a short while, they find out that there may be another village of Smurfs in the Forbidden Forest. When they try to tell Papa Smurf about it, they are grounded and are told not to go there. But the group of friends decide to go anyway to find the other village and warn them of the dangerous Gargamel.

It is always enjoyable to watch the lovable little Smurfs. They entertain and also teach lessons about listening to, loving and helping others. We award the Dove Family Seal for all ages to this charming tale.
