This movie is about a quest! Two girls lost their father in Iraq when he jumped on a grenade to save his platoon. He died a war hero. But their mother refused to talk about it because of the pain it brought her, and she hasn’t been helpful in the girls’ bid to learn more about their dad. The young ladies, now teenagers, decide to seek the truth and find out for themselves about their father and what kind of man he was. One clue after another leads them to Nashville, where they learn their dad was a singer as they are. He was on the brink of being a recording star when he went into the service. A bond is formed, even with Dad being gone.
The girls get a chance to follow in their father’s footsteps to sing, but could singing with Willie Nelson even remotely be a possibility? You will have to watch this delightful movie to find out. We are happy to award the movie our Dove Seal for ages 12-plus. “Pure Country: Pure Heart” offers the audience the possibility of dreams coming true! It is about family history, a connection between a father and his daughters, reaching for one’s dreams, and learning about one’s past in order to step into the future.
