Heavens to Betsy

All Betsy Simon wanted was a little success. An aspiring author of children’s books featuring her cat, “Wishes,” Betsy believes she is about to get her big break. But when she is turned down by a major book publisher, Betsy is devastated. In frustration she cries out to God, “Why have you never answered even one of my prayers?” The moment the words escape her lips, everything changes. Betsy is transformed into a rich and famous author, carrying a Coach handbag, driving a new car and living in a mansion with her filmmaker husband. Caught in this alternative universe, Betsy is about to find out why some prayers are best left unanswered!

“Heavens to Betsy” is a faith-based comedy for all audiences, starring newcomer Karen Lesiewicz and featuring Emmy-winning actor, Jim O’Heir (from TV’s hit show, Parks and Recreation.) This lighthearted romp will make you laugh, and it will touch your heart as Betsy learns the truth about unanswered prayers and her own perception of God.

Dove Review

Everyone has questions about unanswered prayers. This is a funny movie about that very subject. When Betsy asked God that important question, her world as she knows it is totally different. It is hilarious as Betsy tries to figure out what is happening to her. She was treating God more like Santa in her requests to Him. How will all those past things affect her life now, and can she piece this new life together.

With a wonderful storyline of “what ifs”, it brings laughter and some serious thought about one’s life. The story has a lesson about how we don’t always get what we pray for, but God gives us what we need. There is also a great look at keeping the faith, prayer, and accepting what God does for you. This movie will be part of conversations for young and old alike. We love this Dove Faith-Friendly movie for all ages.
