Dove Review

Fearless Faith takes the viewer on a ride-along into the daily lives of a team of police officers, and into their stress and grief experiences as well. The narrative revolves around officer Colton Miller (Jason Burkey), who has lost touch with God, as he continues to grapple with the recent loss of his partner. As Colton rapidly spirals downward into confusion and fear, his patient and supportive wife Lauren (Erin Bethea) gently nudges him to contact Chaplain Michael (Ben Graham), who committed to serving the unit after Colton and his team bravely rescued Michael’s wife, while she was held hostage at gunpoint.

The main sub-plot throughout the film is Colton’s relationship with his new, unbelieving partner, as they continually visit the home of the same drug dealers, who sell drugs on screen, and are embroiled in ongoing domestic squabbles — a necessary backdrop to the overarching storyline. While Colton discusses throughout the angst and unbelief he is experiencing, and grapples openly with the purpose of his role as a cop, Chaplain Michael steps in at the right time to help Colton and the other officers get a new perspective, continually likening them to shepherds, who are called to care for the sheep.

When more intense, life-altering circumstances ensue, where people are again held at gunpoint, and this time a man is shot and fatally wounded on screen, Colton’s “fearless faith” is put to the test, as he leans into what he has come to accept as his calling and experiences a sacrifice that will change many hearts and minds forever.
