Dove Review

Pet Channel Brasil is a wonderful series, three episodes long, which showcases the need for, care of, and delight that pets and animals bring into our lives. In this series we get to meet Patricia, who oversees a pioneer pet sanctuary and has saved neglected, tortured and abused pets by giving them a safe home. This includes ducks, dogs and cats, and even a pig named Maggie that had been mistreated and was on her way to the slaughter when rescued.

We meet a rooster and a hen rescued from a pet shop where they were dying and whose personalities shine through after they have been given a good home. Many are given medication on a regular basis until they are well again. It’s said that the animals return the love they have been given by their affection. In another episode, Cecilia and her Labradors are the focus as the personal story of a woman and her two dogs is featured. Seeing one of them with a hat on and sporting sunglasses will bring a smile to your face.

The final episode deals with a woman’s golden retriever and how the dog, named Benjamin, brought joy to her life after she lost another dog she loved. The affectionate Benjamin is given a birthday party, and several humans—and animals—attend his “bow wow of a party!” Another positive feature is the mention of a company that makes premium food for animals, using quality products and ensuring that the animals will be healthy. The company uses organic foods. The importance of appropriate ingredients is examined.

The Dove Take

As one episode of this series points out, “Children and animals are the best things we have.” This series takes a loving look at caring for animals and making sure they are not neglected or mistreated. We are pleased to award this series our Dove-Approved All Ages Seal.
