A college graduate who has hopes of “just being happy,” Jessica finds herself lost after college graduation and a very unexpected breakup with the love of her life—all without having her mom, who died when she was young, to help her navigate. After turning down graduate school at Baylor in hopes of planning a wedding, Jessica’s faithful friends, Emily and Ashley invite her to stay with them over the summer as she figures out her next steps.
A random, yet divine encounter with an older lady with disabilities affords Jessica a meaningful job over the summer. Her summer spent caring for an aging lady with dementia and serving as a liaison between the woman and her son affords Jessica a deeper and more meaningful understanding of happiness in life and relationships. It even gives her direction for the future as she utilizes her college hobbies of blogging to write a book about all that she’s learned. Overall, a beautiful story about how choosing to stay when leaving would be easier—in life, in relationships, and in jobs—actually accelerates us into the plans and purposes God has for our lives.
