Dove Review

Patrick could well be described as a formulaic romantic comedy, but the film follows the formula with such wit and finesse while teaching gentle tongue-in-cheek lessons (i.e., Grandma knows best) that it becomes a warm retreat of a movie where viewers can take comfort in knowing that everything is going to turn out just fine.

And of course, it does! But first, Sarah must learn to believe in herself. Somehow, through the antics of the pug named Patrick, she finds opportunities that open up her life in a new and fulfilling way. Through the numerous social faux pas and mini-crises of her life, Sarah becomes others-focused and finds her dreams come true in the process.

The Dove Take:

Sweetly predictable with a healthy dose of self-effacing British charm, Patrick is a cozy film that entertains in a wholesome fashion.
